Subaru has officially disclosed plans to reveal a redesigned 2019 Forester at the upcoming New York Auto Show. Of course, the company has offered up a teaser image of the new Forester to accompany the announcement.
Like most Subaru teaser images, this one does not tell us much. What it does confirm is that the 2019 Forester is gaining C-clamp looking taillights, similar to other recent Subaru designs. It’s expected those new lamps will be installed on a vehicle riding on Subaru’s Global Platform, which launched with the new Impreza.
The new bones mean the new Forester will likely grow in size a bit, but little is known thus far. It’s also safe to assume four-cylinder boxer will be found in the Forester, as will Subaru’s CVT automatic and symmetrical all-wheel drive.
Subaru will reveal the 2019 Forester on March 28th in New York City, while it is expected to go on sale later this year in the U.S.
