Nissan apparently plans to reveal a new SUV-like concept at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show. At least that’s the vibe they’re giving off with a new video teaser revealed online.
According to the video, the automaker will showoff a vehicle the embodies Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility strategy. Intelligent Mobility is the automaker’s marketing lingo for its combination of electrification, self-drive and connectivity technology.
Within the video, Nissan shows off the profile of what looks like an SUV-like vehicle. It’s smaller, obviously electric and has a greenhouse shape that is similar to that of the 2018 Nissan Leaf. It also has some very interesting lighting effects going on.
Since the reveal of the all-new Leaf, rumors have bubbled up that Nissan is planning to rollout more vehicles based on the Leaf’s architecture. Given consumer’s taste for crossovers and SUVs these days, an SUV version of the Leaf seems like a really logical next step for Nissan.
In addition to this concept, Nissan has several other offerings planned for next week’s Tokyo show. One such offering is a concept version of the Leaf Nismo, which Nissan has already revealed.
