Mercedes-Maybach Teases SUV Concept

Mercedes-Maybach is slated to pulled the cover off a new ultra-luxury SUV concept at the upcoming 2018 Beijing auto show. The brand has offered up our first official look at the upcoming concept with a new Facebook video and interior sketch.

Known as the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury, it is expected to blend ultra-luxury sedan traits with SUV form. The sketch vindicates the mission with a leather-wrapped interior that blends metal accents and blue ambient lighting. The interior is so fancy, Mercedes says it will launch a matching line of furniture.

On the outside, Mercedes says to expect the next iteration of Maybach’s design theme. The new theme will further differentiate Maybach variants from the core Mercedes-Benz lineup.

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury is widely expected to preview Mercedes-Maybach’s upcoming take on the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLS. The new GLS is due out next year as a 2020 model and is slated to gain a Maybach variant. A Mercedes-Maybach GLS will go up against the likes of the Bentley Bentayga and serve as Maybach’s first SUV variant.

While the Vision concept will be revealed in Beijing on April 25th, the all-new GLS Class is not slated for reveal until late this year, possibly at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Luxury at its finest.

Luxury at its finest. Coming soon.#AutoChina

It's stunning to me we live in a world where a $180,000 SUV makes a lot of sense.

It's stunning that we live in a world where a loaded Chevy Tahoe is $75k.
