Mercedes has been slowly releasing teasers and details about the upcoming GT R, and now we have some important specifications. The boys in Affalterbach have managed to find more power for the new GT R, which should prove to showcase some impressive performance figures.

The GT R will utilize the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 that the current GT S utilizes. However, AMG has bumped the horsepower from 503 to an impressive 577. The jump in juice is going to naturally reduce the zero to 60 time from 3.8 seconds to 3.6 seconds – not that anyone is really going to notice a difference at a sub-4.0 time anyway. The car’s top speed has also increased to 198 mph, according to AMG.

The GT R isn’t just about power figures. The car will also sport chassis improvements, a body kit, better brakes and revised steering. Capping this package off will be an exclusive green hue called Green Hell Mango, which follows Mercedes’ theme of teasing the car using the hashtag #BeastofGreenHell.

Well, the beast is supposed to be revealed on June 24th in Goodwood.
