Mercedes-AMG G Class Goes Out With Special Editions

Mercedes-AMG is sending the current G Class out with two new limited volume models. Known as the Exclusive Editions, the models add some special pizzaz to the six-figure military-grade SUV prior to its total replacement with a new G Class in just a few months.

The Exclusive Edition will be offered on both the G63 and G65 variants. In both cases, the package adds a special grey paint, AMG racing stripes and other visual enhancements. Both also sport unique 21-inch wheels.

Inside, both versions offer two-tone leather dash panels and sport seats to differentiate them from the normal G Class. Buyers can choose between six different leather combinations, as well as carbon fiber or piano black accent trim pieces.

The Exclusive Editions are effectively AMG’s send-off for the current G Class. An all-new G Class will arrive next year with an aluminum body, far more modern interior and new powertrains. Rumors suggest the next G Class will be revealed at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show in January.

Mercedes-AMG will officially reveal the G Class Exclusive Editions at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 12th.

Pretty expensive for a vehicle that is 40 years ago...
I get scared when I read "all new". I hope it doesn't get ruined.
