AMG Opens First Full-Service, Standalone Dealership

In recent years Mercedes-Benz has greatly expanded its AMG performance lineup. Launching everything from the pocket-rocket AMG45 models to the range-topping AMG65 series, there’s nearly an AMG for every purse and person. Naturally, the brand is branching out further on the distribution side of things with the worlds-first standalone AMG dealership.

Opening now in Sydney, Australia the new AMG Sydney store marks a milestone for the AMG badge. While it is second to a store in Tokyo, Japan as the first standalone AMG showroom, it is the first AMG-only dealership. The AMG showroom in Japan is attached to a regular Mercedes-Benz dealership; AMG Sydney is not.

The stunning structure housing AMG Sydney is actually inspired by AMG’s headquarters in Affalterbach, Germany. The design is a fitting precursor to the staff of 15 employees housed inside; all of which were trained on-site in Affalterbach at the AMG Academy.

Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers says the Sydney store signals the “next stage” of the brand’s sales initiative. AMG is already planning more standalone stores in other major cities.

I am interested to see if AMG really deserves it's own dealership... will they get enough traffic?
