Kia’s dramatic Imagine Concept from this year’s Geneva Motor Show may have a production future after all. The brand’s design boss has confirmed plans to roll out a new “emotional flagship” that’s likely based on the Imagine.
Former Lamborghini designer Luc Donckerwolke recently spoke with AutoExpress regarding the Imagine Concept, saying it foreshadows a future flagship product.
Per the usual, the executive did not go into details around the new product. Donckerwolke just stated that a production car could arrive in about three years, making it a point to say he “(doesn’t) see anything that’s really not feasible” about the Imagine Concept. Though he went on to admit some element may not meet cost requirements for production.
Rumors suggest this new “emotional flagship” will be a crossover coupe design, perhaps one that isn’t far off from the Imagine, adding some meat to the executive’s comments. The new vehicle is also expected to be electric, just like the Imagine.
When the Imagine was revealed, Kia did not release specifics regarding the electric powertrain. The company simply confirmed it was built on an electric architecture and was capable of wireless charging.
