It appears Jaguar has spent the vast majority of its refresh budget for its first-ever SUV on the interior. The 2021 F-Pace has been revealed with very subtle changes to the exterior, but a near-full redesign of the interior along with new engines.
Most folks would be hard-pressed to notice the differences between the 2020 and 2021 F-Pace when it comes to exterior design. Jaguar has essentially slotted in slimmer headlights and grille revisions that largely hinge on material changes more than overall changes to the car’s graphic. F-Pace’s backside is a similar story, with slimmed up taillights that have shed the rounded portion in favor of strictly horizontal lighting.
While it may be difficult to tell this refresh from the outside, it certainly isn’t on the inside. The 2021 F-Pace has ditched its rather curvy dash panel in favor of a new, fairly angular design that looks significantly more modern. The new look offers better-integrated HVAC vents and, of course, an optional 11.4-inch touchscreen display. Said display is accompanied by a 12.3-inch screen that acts as the gauge cluster, while both will display Jaguar’s new Pivi Pro infotainment system. Standard heated seats and a Meridian sound system are also additions to the 2021 interior.
Much like the interior, the engine compartment is seeing a few new items as well. Base model F-Pace’s will make do with Jaguar Land Rover’s familiar turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, generating 246 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. If that’s not enough, Jaguar is offering two flavors of its inline-six, both sporting a traditional turbocharger and electric turbocharger. The mid-range six-cylinder will offer 335 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque, while the higher-output flavor will net 395 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. All engines will be bolted to a ZF eight-speed automatic.
All three engines will feature a belt alternator starter system and 48-volt electrical architecture, meaning every 2021 F-Pace is effectively a mild hybrid.
Jaguar has not disclosed when the 2021 F-Pace will go on sale. Expect pricing details to be announced closer to launch.
