CarAdvice reports that official details concerning Hyundai’s forthcoming i30 N hot hatch were leaked during a recent presentation.
The performance edition of the i30 will be offered in two variations – a 250 hp base model and a 275 hp higher-output version that will feature a firmer suspension and track-oriented packaging. Both models will initially come equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, with an eight-speed automatic to follow in 2019.
The i30 N is also said to mark the debut of Hyundai’s electronically-controlled mechanical limited-slip front differential system (E-LSD).
The N series models will include distinctive spoilers, unique wheels, quad-exhaust pipes and a special rear diffuser. In the cabin, bolstered seating will be featured as well as a new steering wheel that supports selectable driving modes.
The Hyundai i30 is sold in the U.S. and Canada as the Elantra GT.
No word yet on whether the N series will make its way to North America.
