A photograph of the alleged 2018 Acura TLX has leaked out on blog Burlappcar.com (image at the link). The photo appears to have been taken from a brochure or some kind, but nonetheless certainly looks authentic.
The TLX is slated for a mild re-engineering effort for the 2018 model year. Rumors have suggested the car would receive new front and rear fascias to bring the car’s design more in line with the brand’s new look. Part of that new look includes Acura’s new diamond pentagon grille, which replaces the dreadful bird-beak-looking grille the brand has become infamous for sporting.
If we’re to believe all the rumors, the TLX is also expected to receive significant powertrain upgrades, including the possibility of the 1.5-liter turbo from the Civic Si serving as the base engine. A new 2.0-liter turbo could end up replacing the V-6 version as well, but all of this remains speculative until Acura reveals the real deal later this year or early in 2017.
While this is expected to be more in line with a refresh (or “mid-cycle enhancement”), a full-fledged redesigned TLX is expected in or around 2020.
