Opel Schedules Monday Town Hall With Employees

Automotive News is reporting this morning that General Motors’ Opel has scheduled a town hall meeting with employees for Monday morning. The news comes as reports yesterday suggested GM and PSA Group are nearing the finalization of a deal for the French automaker to acquire Opel from GM.

The meeting is allegedly scheduled for Monday at 9:45 a.m. local time at the company’s Russelshiem, Germany headquarters. Opel reportedly held a similar town hall meeting today, but it was cut short by management citing the inability to discuss details regarding negotiations with PSA Group.

Today’s news appears to provide further evidence that the two automakers are on the cusp of announcing a final acquisition deal.
