GMC has released three teaser shots of the upcoming 2018 Terrain on the company’s official Facebook page. Unlike some automaker teaser shots, these do give us a good indicator of what the new small SUV will look like, and so far it looks interesting.
Two of the shots reveal quite a bit about the overall exterior design. First, we know that the Terrain will adopt a “floating” roofline, similar to that of the Bolt EV and Nissan Murano. We also know that the headlights will retain GMC’s signature C-clamp LED treatment, housed within a very uniquely shaped lamp.
GMC also released a third shot that appears to be of a square exhaust outlet, which doesn’t tell us much in and of itself, but the caption along with it does. The caption says everything will be turbocharged, hinting that the entire Terrain engine lineup will mirror that of the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, which includes two turbocharged gas engines and one turbocharged diesel engine.
Nonetheless, the wait is nearly over for the new Terrain. GMC will formally reveal it tomorrow (Sunday) night ahead of this year’s Detroit Auto Show. Stay tuned to AutoVerdict for live coverage of the event.
