GM Teases Unknown Chevrolet Crossover

Today General Motors leveraged its Capital Markets Day and NYSE bell ringing as a platform to drop an unnamed teaser of a Chevrolet crossover. While GM isn’t saying which model it is, it appears to be the next-generation Chevrolet Trax.

The teaser depicts a compact crossover that looks sort of like a cross between the current Trax and the all-new Blazer. There’s a large lower air intake resting under a slender grille opening where the bowtie is found. Horizontal lamps with LED daytime running lamps are flanking the grille.

Along the side, there’s new, aggressive curving similar to the 2019 Silverado and Blazer.

Assuming this teaser is the 2020 Trax, little else is known about it at this time. It is expected the Trax will transition to a new architecture that will eventually underpin the Buick Encore and possibly a GMC model.

Looks like a junior Blazer, which isn't a bad thing. It would be nice, given that GM appears to be getting out of the small car game, if they did a performance version of this. AWD, a higher boost 1.5 or the 2T if it fits, and an available manual. It won't sell a ton, but it would garner some positive attention (and sales) from enthusiasts if done well.

Given what GM has shown lately, that seems very unlikely, but you never know!

I think that comparisons of this image taken side by side of the camo shots of the upcoming Trax make me tend to think that just maybe that is what it really is.
