A few weeks ago General Motors showed off a teaser shot of an unknown Chevrolet SUV. Well, now that SUV is known as the 2020 Chevrolet Tracker, which is bound for the Chinese market and has shown its face.
Like many product leaks in China, this one comes thanks to the Chinese government. Photos of the redesigned Tracker are on the country’s vehicle certification website. In the photos is a compact, B-segment crossover that looks similar to the larger Chevrolet Trax. The new Tracker is larger and wider than the outgoing version. Reports out of China suggest its base engine will be a 1.0-liter engine with 115 horsepower.
Despite its larger stature, the Tracker is not expected to be a replacement for the Trax. In fact, a new Trax is expected to arrive next year in all global markets. What isn’t known at this time is if the Tracker will ever find its way to the North American market. Our guess is probably not.
