Cadillac has used today’s Detroit Auto Show to announce pricing for the 2019 CT6-V. The new V-Series Caddy will start just shy of $90,000, with pre-orders for the car starting today.
The luxury brand says it has only 275 pre-order slots open for the CT6-V, keeping the pre-order process rather exclusive. The CT6-V will bookend the high-end of the Cadillac V-Series lineup, which will briefly include the ATS-V Coupe and CTS-V. All three cars are slated to end production by the end of 2019.
The CT6-V is powered by an Cadillac exclusive 4.2-liter V-8. Dubbed the “Blackwing,” this engine churns out 550 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque and is hand-built at GM’s Bowling Green, Kentucky assembly plant. The power will flow through a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system.
CT6-V buyers will also gain a two-day, all expense paid trip to Spring Mountain for the brand’s V-Series Academy. The program teaches V-Series buyers how to get the most out of their hot-rod Cadillacs with some driving lessons on the track.
