Cadillac announced today that the brand’s all-new flagship sedan, CT6, will begin shipping to dealerships in March 2016. The new sedan will be built at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant and wear a base price of $54,490.

The CT6 marks Cadillac’s return into the large rear-wheel drive sedan territory with a new, lightwieght chassis and a host of new-to-Cadillac features in an effort to compete with the likes of Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7-Series.

CT6 will launch with three different powertrain options, including GM’s familiar 2.0-liter turbo as the base engine, an optional 3.6-liter V-6 and 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6. The price schedule for each engine is as follows:

  • 2.0-liter Turbo – Starting at $53,495
  • 3.6-liter V-6 with AWD – Starting at $55,495
  • 3.0-liter TwinTurbo V-6 with AWD – Starting at $64,395

Additionally the CT6 Platinum–Cadillac’s top trim level–will set customers back by at least $83,465. All pricing excludes a $995 destination charge. Customers ready to sign up and order may do so at their Cadillac dealer today.
