The slow and steady tease of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing continues. Today Cadillac released the above shot, abstractly displaying the car’s new carbon fiber performance seats.
There isn’t a tremendous amount of information to gleam from the photo of the corresponding release. What is confirmed is that the CT5-V Blackwing will offer [assumably] optional carbon fiber seats. The image shows off the carbon fiber with the V-Series logo laser etched in the center. The carbon fiber is flanked by gloss-black trim pieces framing openings in the seat design.
This will not mark the first time Cadillac has leveraged carbon fiber trim on V-Series seats, but it does appear to be the most extensive application to date.
Today’s teaser is a follow-up from one several weeks ago, which showcased the CT5-V Blackwing’s steering wheel, which also featured carbon fiber trim. Though the point of that teaser wasn’t to showcase the carbon fiber, but rather to show off a new V-Series button on the steering wheel, which will put the car in a more aggressive drive mode.
Unfortunately we still have awhile to wait for this CTS-V replacement. The CT5-V Blackwing isn’t slated to hit the market until next summer. That said, it may be worth the wait given it’s rumored to have in excess of 650 horsepower.
