Chinese media have gotten ahold of photos of the redesigned Buick GL8 minivan. The GL8 has been on sale in China since 2000, where minivans are still have more market potential than in North America. In fact, Buick sold over 78,000 GL8’s in China in 2015, making it a big part of the brand’s Chinese lineup.

According to the photos the GL8 is getting a fairly substantial redesign from today’s model. Every panel appears to be new, except for the roof. The new look clearly brings the GL8 more in line with the rest of the Buick lineup, with a lot design cues borrowed from the new LaCrosse sedan.

The interior and specifications are not yet known as the GL8 has not officially been revealed by GM. Today’s van is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder or 3.0-liter V-6. Chinese auto media report that the new one is expected to gain GM’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 horsepower.

The new GL8 is expected to be officially revealed later this year.
