For 2019 Buick is adding an additional trim level to its LaCrosse sedan, dubbed the Sport Touring. While this new package changes the visuals of the normal LaCrosse sedan, the inference of additional “sport” is a bit misleading.
Known as the LaCrosse ST for short, this variant of Buick’s biggest sedan drops some of the traditional chrome and swaps out the chrome grille for a black mesh unit. Around back ST cars add on a small lip spoiler, while a a bold ST badge flanks the rests under the spoiler on the trunk deck.
Aside from the added visual pizzaz, there’s actually no changes versus the regular LaCrosse. The same 3.6-liter V-6 is powering the LaCrosse ST with 310 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque funneling through a nine-speed automatic. Perhaps its a bit ironic, the LaCrosse ST is only offered in front-wheel-drive layout. Other trim levels of LaCrosse offer optional all-wheel-drive.
Those interested in owning a unique looking LaCrosse can snag one for a base price of $41,220. Buyers will be limited to five exterior color options on the LaCrosse ST: white, black, red and two variations of silver.
We wonder how Ford feels about Buick borrowing the ST badge?
