2018 Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain Recalled

General Motors has recalled its all-new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain crossovers. The company says about 2,900 of them need repaired.

According to GM, the right front intermediate driveshaft may fracture and separate while driving. If this situation occurs, the vehicle will lose propulsion, potentially causing an accident. If the vehicle is parked when this occurs, the vehicle could roll away. GM hasn’t stated what the root cause of the situation is; bad parts or an assembly issue.

As such, dealerships will replace the right front intermediate driveshaft on the impacted units after notifying owners of the situation.
