2019 Lexus ES Revealed Before Beijing Debut

After photos of the 2019 Lexus ES leaked, the company has decided to just issue a real-deal photo. The above shot shows off the latest Lexus, which is wearing an LS-inspired design theme.*

Two sentences accompany the ES photo. "The all-new*ES*springs from a reimagined luxury equation. Engaging design, athletic performance, and renowned refinement transform*Lexus's*most popular sedan."

Clearly details of the redesigned ES are going to remain under wraps until April 25th when the car formally bows. Nonetheless, we do know the new car is migrating to Toyota's TNGA architecture like most of the company's models. This move means the new is probably slightly larger and more dynamic than the outgoing model. In Europe the new ES will also be an indirect replacement for the discontinued GS, which also explains the small upsizing.*

Matching the sharper styling, rumors suggest Lexus will be adding all-wheel drive to this version of the ES. Sending power to all four's is expected to be Toyota's latest 3.5-liter V-6 with in-excess of 300 horsepower and a new ES hybrid variant.*

An all-new interior will also debut on the ES, but Lexus has not offered any early looks inside the car yet. Assuming there's no more teasers, we must wait another week to see the rest of the 2019 Lexus ES.*

Honestly doesn't look that bad, not a fan of the latest Lexus grills but this iteration isn't as offensive as others.

Agree. If they give this decent power and AWD, will the market really miss the GS?

I would miss the GS because that was one product Lexus did right IMO. But the rest of the market? Probably not.
