    2018 Jeep Wrangler Finally Official

There's been no lack of leaks when it comes to the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL. Nearly every aspect of the new icon has trickled out over the last year, from specifications to photos. Well, we can all stop speculating and operating off of unofficial goods, because FCA has released the real-deal photos.*

As we already knew, the JL Wrangler looks a lot like today's JK. The variances are minimal, but hard-core Jeepers will notice the new LED lighting in front and back. They'll also notice a new crease in the belt line that runs the length of the SUV. In general, the Jeep boys have given us new design details and newer technologies outside, while keeping the iconic Wrangler design theme obviously intact.*

Oddly, these three exterior shots are all that FCA decided to release as a Halloween treat. That's alright though, given the fact nearly everything else is already known about this thing anyway.*

Along with the new look, expect far more modern amenities in the cabin and under the hood as well. Base power is expected to come from FCA's turbocharged 2.0-liter Hurricane four-cylinder, while the familiar 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 will also make its way under the Wrangler hood.*

Eventually the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 will also find duty in this Wrangler, but not until 2019.*

After the diesel variant, expect a pickup truck version of this Wrangler as well carrying the iconic Scrambler nameplate.*

Jeep will formally reveal the remaining official details on the 2018 Wrangler at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 29th.*

A diesel Scrambler would be an ideal back-country rig, man... solid axles, coils at all four corners, an open bed, and diesel fuel economy... you could get lost in the mountains for a week with something like that!
