Apparently just because you spend upwards of $70,000 on your Ford Super Duty pickup doesn’t mean you necessarily want a carpet floor. Starting on the 2017 Ford Super Duty, buyers will be able to opt for a vinyl floor on the top-end King Ranch and Platinum models.
The logic behind this decision is fairly obvious: some luxury truck buyers really do use their trucks for work. So for those who do, this will give those buyers an easy-to-clean alternative to potentially ruining their carpet with mud, dirt and whatever else may soil it.
Ford does note that the vinyl option on the luxury trim levels is not the same as that found on the base XL and XLT models. This vinyl is thicker and includes clips that will allow owners to use rubber or carpeted floor mats.
