Ford Motor Company will use this weekend’s Super Bowl LI as an opportunity to remake its image with the public. The 90-second spot will portray Ford as a transportation solutions provider, a move the company has been pushing lately as it transforms into a mobility company instead of just an automaker.
The sport will air during kickoff on Sunday. It highlights the frustration people face when it comes to various forms of mobility and highlights the various ways Ford is attempting to fix them. Towards the end it shows Ford’s various mobility services, such as ride and bike sharing programs, that the company is already engaged in.
Along with the Super Bowl spot, Ford is opening a new 2,900-square-foot facility in New York City called FordHub. FordHub will be a demonstration showroom of Ford’s initiatives to transform transportation and mobility. Labeled as an experiment for now, the public will be able to visit FordHub at the Westfield World Trade Center when it opens in February.
Inside the exhibit customers will be able to do things such as build a Mustang in 3D, engage in virtual racing and see local transportation status on a huge video wall.
