2021 Ford Mustang Mach E Orders Starting Soon

The order books for the anticipated 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E are opening soon. Documents provided from Ford Motor Company to its dealerships highlight the ordering process, while sources state the process will commence on May 11th.

Folks over at Mach E Forum have gotten their hands on the official order guide for Ford’s new battery-electric SUV. Along with the order guide are documents that outline the order process, which will supposedly start with an email to those who have reserved a Mach E online. The email will be an invitation to build your Mach E.

Members of the forum seem highly confident that the order banks will open up on May 11th, but that date is not on any of Ford’s official documents.

The Mustang Mach E will be produced at Ford’s Hermosillo, Mexico assembly plant. Like most assembly plants right now, Hermosillo is currently idled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It is unclear if the unplanned downtime will impact the Mach E’s launch timing.

Ford has not disclosed how many Mach E reservations it has received.

With gas well under $2/gal does anyone really care about electric cars anymore?
Interesting to see how Tesla does now with direct competitors. The Porsche Taycan 4S seems to line up against the Model S and the Mustang MachE lines up against the Model Y.

Initial reviews seems to indicate the Porsche is a better drive, but Tesla is really ahead in terms of energy management and gets more range. Curious to see what Ford does here.
