Ford’s luxury cowboy trim has been absent from the Ford Expedition lineup for a few years now, but that’s about to change. At this week’s State Fair of Texas the Blue Oval brand has revealed the 2020 Expedition King Ranch to put a cherry on top of this generation of Expedition.
Ford has leveraged the Expedition Platinum as a basis for the new King Ranch, which means it is intently focused on luxury. The most notable differences are found inside, where the Expedition King Ranch features Del Rio leather on all three rows of seats in a rustic chic two-tone color palette. Ziricote wood veneers and King Ranch’s iconic “W” logo are embossed on the back of every seat in this rolling palace.
Outside the Expedition King Ranch features a two-tone paint scheme with Stone Gray paint dressing the lower body and some trim pieces. Of course, there’s additional King Ranch logos on the outside as well.
King Ranch buyers will appreciate a few luxury touches pulled from the Platinum model, including electronically-controlled dampers, MultiContour front seats, power-folding and heated side mirrors, a 360-degree parking camera, and Ford Co-Pilot360 active-safety features.
While on the subject of the Platinum, Ford says it has also layered on additional luxury with it as well. The 2020 Expedition Platinum now features a leather-wrapped dash top, front door panels and front and rear armrests. The interior changes will likely give buyers additional peace of mind for forking over $70,000+ for the Platinum trim.
Speaking of pricing, Ford has not disclosed the price tag for either the Expedition King Ranch or the revamped Platinum. Expect both to start above $70,000 when they arrive in dealerships at the end of the year.
