Consumer Reports today released the results of its annual vehicle owner satisfaction survey, providing an indication of which brands they would buy again.
Marques eligible for consideration were required to have a minimum of two models available and be within the 2014-2017 model years.
Owners were asked if they would purchase the same vehicle once again, with model satisfaction determined by responses of “definitely yes.” The average of the satisfaction scores was then used to determine overall satisfaction for the brand.
The results of this year’s survey placed the Tesla, Porsche, Audi and Subaru brands in the top for spots for the second consecutive year. Among other notables, Lincoln jumped from 21st to 12th place and Hyundai climbed from 12 to 24th. Ram had the dubious distinction of dropping from 5th place last year to 17th in 2016, while BMW fell from sixth to 14th place and Volkswagen slid to 24th from 16th place last year.
