Infiniti stores were ranked first by mystery shoppers who evaluated their treatment as part of the 2016 Pied Piper Prospect Satisfaction Index.

Now in its 10th year, the study was performed between July 2015 and June 2016 at 6,157 dealerships located in the U.S. More than 50 key factors were examined in the evaluations, which take into consideration in-person, telephone and digital interaction with store staff members.

Among brands which placed at the top of the index, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz tied for second, followed by Toyota, Audi and BMW.

Nine of the top ten marques were import brands, with Cadillac stores ranking highest among domestic brands in ninth place.

At the other end of the spectrum, the lowest-ranked brands included Tesla, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Jeep and Chevrolet.

Pied Piper maintains that a correlation exists between sales volumes and its prospect satisfaction scores, with brands in the top 25 percent of the index selling 16 percent more vehicles than those stores that rank in the bottom quarter.
