Will Ram Roll Out A Raptor Rival?

We all know Ram has the bits and pieces to build a viable F-150 Raptor rival. Within the FCA toolbox there’s a litany of HEMI V-8’s, the Ram Rebel hardware and a generally great half-ton pickup. According to Car And Driver Ram is putting serious consideration into putting the pieces together to produce the most-powerful factory half-ton pickup ever.

Ram has already teased us with the idea before. Last year the company revealed the Ram Rebel TRX Concept at the Texas State Fair. That truck leveraged the company’s supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI with a massive 575 horsepower figure paired with beefed up Rebel gear. Needless to say, the truck created quite the fanbase fairly quickly.

C&D seems to think the truck will come to fruition later this year. If it does, expect the power output to follow the TRX Concept, along with its body kit and styling. Such a truck will ultimately be the first true rival to the Ford F-150 Raptor, and a more powerful one at that.

We've heard rumors of Raptor competition from Ram and GM for a while now but neither have pulled the trigger.

I hope they do this. It's styling is much better than the Raptor.

You've got to hand it to FCA, they are definitely not afraid to leverage their V8s and the architectures which can accept them.
