Is This The Dodge Challenger Hellcat ADR?

The trailer of The Fate of the Furious may preview the rumored Dodge Challenger Hellcat ADR. Or at least, there’s a wide-body Challenger clearly identified in the eight installment of The Fast and the Furious franchise and it has an uncanny resemblance.

Its resemblance is similar to that of the Challenger GT AWD concept that was show at SEMA last year, which wore a wide-body kit. In fact, the resemblance to it is so striking that even the turn indicator matches the official Dodge version found on the SEMA car.

The idea of a wide-body Challenger is not a surprise. There’s been recent speculation that Dodge is working on a Challenger Hellcat ADR model, ADR standing for American Drag Racing.. The ADR is said to sport a wide-body kit and the Hellcat’s usual 707 horsepower HEMI V-8.

It is important to note that Dodge has officially denied that the wide-body Challenger in the film’s trailer is a future product, but that doesn’t always mean anything. Automakers are often coy or deny future product speculation until after a formal reveal. Even if this isn’t the official Challenger ADR, it certainly gives us a reasonable preview of the real deal.

My level of annoyance with FCA definitely took a turn for the worse when I realized that the AWD Challenger is V6 only.
