Dodge’s slow trickle of details regarding the Challenger SRT Demon has continued with more news. Today Dodge has confirmed that the Demon will feature a wide body format and custom made drag radial tires.
The wide bodykit comes as little surprise as Dodge has shown several Challenger show cars with a wide bodykit in recent years. This, of course, is less for design purposes and more to allow for the wide 18X11 lightweight wheels that will be standard on the Demon.
Custom made “Demon Branded” 315/40R18 Nitto NT05R tires will wrap around those wheels. Dodge says the Demon will be the first factory production car to drag radials.
The combination of the 11-inch-wide wheels, high-profile drag radials and integrated fender flares adds 3.5 inches to the overall width of the Challenger SRT Demon. There’s also rumors that the car will feature all-wheel-drive, which is entirely possible since the Challenger GT is now on the market.
You can expect more details to trickle out between now and mid-April when the car will debut at the New York Auto Show.
