Perhaps it comes as little surprise, but buyers of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon have to jump through a few extra hoops to order their monstrous car. In addition to pricing rules that prioritize orders, Fiat Chrysler is also making buyers sign a lengthy “customer acknowledgement” document; basically a waiver of their legal liabilities associated with the beastly nature of the Demon.
The document, viewable in full over at AllPar offers up a list of 15 (yes, 15) different acknowledgements the customer must initial and sign their name to before ordering the car. The document is then submitted to FCA with the order form.
None of the legal waivers are really a bit surprise with this car. Several of the 15 are in relation to the drag radial tires the car comes with from the factory, while some relate to the fact that owners are likely going to remove the seats out of the car. One line requires the customer to understand that the car should not be driven on wet pavement, even. The first acknowledgement really provides a thesis for the entire document: the customer is assuming all risk associated with the features and applications of the vehicle.
Dodge is even going so far as to make the customer acknowledge that exterior colors B5 Blue, Indigo Blue, Plum Crazy and F8 Green will not be available until Q1 2018 “at the earliest.”
Basically, FCA’s legal team is covering all the bases when it comes to the SRT Demon.
