Dodge Challenger Demon Ascends from Hell

If FCA was determined to build the world’s fastest production vehicle on the quarter mile, well then Mission Accomplished.

The Dodge Challenger Demon packs a hell-raising 840 hp, goes from 0-60 in 2.3 seconds, and breaks the quarter mile in just 9.65 seconds at 140 MPH thanks to the 6.2L V8 with a 2.7L supercharger!

The Demon comes with two key fobs, one to limit power at an Angel-like 505 hp, and another in red that will unleash its full power.

To handle the power, the Demon comes with a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission and works with the TransBrake to keep the beast grounded while on the drag strip.

If you want a Demon, you had better get in line quickly. Only 3,300 units will be built (3,000 for the US, 300 for Canada) when production starts this summer.

You will also be able to see the Demon in The Fate of the Furious, which debuts this Friday.

We will have more coming from NYIAS live tomorrow.

The pony car wars went from a knife fight to a Panzer tank battle. I applaud FCA!
I was stoked about this car. But after hearing that Dodge made this pretty much a 1 trick pony, I lost some of my enthusiasm. It will be terrific for it's mission, but I'm not a drag strip only fan.
    It looks ready to demonize.
I remember when anything faster than thirteens was fast. Nines used to be pretty rare for a street driven car. Now it's available from the factory. Incredible!!
    Hades would be so proud...
