Electric vehicle startup Rivian has announced a significant level of detail regarding its first two models: the R1T and R1S. Both electric vehicles will begin hitting the market in mid-2021 for price-points in the mid-$70,00 range.

Both R1T and R1S will be available in three trim levels: Launch Edition, Adventure and Explorer. In the case of both models, the trim levels will hit the market in a set cadence; not all at once. The very first Rivian to hit the streets will be the R1T Launch Edition, which is slated to rollout in June 2021 for a base price of $75,000. The R1T Adventure and Explorer will follow in January 2022 for $77,000 and $67,500, respectively.

Following the R1T Launch Edition will be the R1S Launch Edition in August 2021. It will arrive to market with a $77,500 price tag, a price-point that will be shared with the R1S Adventure when it hits the market in January 2022. The base R1S Explorer will also launch in January 2022 with a $70,000 price tag.

Given the parity between the Launch Edition and Adventure price tags, it likely comes as no surprise that the equipment levels between the two are also in parity. The Launch Edition models do come with a special Launch Green paint job and special “Launch Edition” badging, as well as specific wood trim.

Interested buyers can already preorder either Rivian model on their website, but the automaker says its online vehicle configurator will go live on November 23rd for those who want to decide on a configuration before settling.
