French manufacturer Alpine has provided a preview of its new mid-engined A110 sports coupe.
First introduced as the Alpine Vision concept last year at the Geneva Motor Show, the production version of the car is set to make its debut on March 7.
While parent company Renault has released limited details in advance of the first public showing, they have indicated that the car is underpinned by an aluminum chassis and will weigh about 1,100 kg. Power is expected to be provided by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will offer output between 250 and 300 horsepower and 0 to 60 acceleration in 4.5 seconds.
The A110 name pays tribute to the original model that was launched in 1961 that went on to win the World Rally Championship in 1973.
Renault says that the name reflects “the timeless principles of compact size, light weight and agility.”
