2021 Genesis G80: Genesis' Gorgeous New Sedan Bows

It’s been no secret that a redesigned version of the Genesis G80 sedan has been in the works. There’s been spy shots and rumors about the new sedan, but nothing fully eluded to the stunning sedan that is the 2021 G80.

Based on an all-new architecture versus today’s G80, this new one has completely different proportions. There’s a long hood and sweeping lines that remind of classic cars. Timeless lines are merged with Genesis’ now iconic quad-lamps. The parallel headlight treatment is further highlighted by a bold rendition of the Genesis shield grille.

The overall look and design is very similar to the recently-announced GV80 SUV, which comes as no surprise given the GV80 is setting the tone for Genesis’ future design theme.

Much like the exterior, the interior of the G80 mirrors the GV80 closely. A relatively simple interior design is highlighted with a large 14.5-inch infotainment display and oversized horizontal HVAC vents. Natural pore wood and a rotary dial shifter also standout in this interior design.

While Genesis has released official photos of the 2021 G80, the company is not releasing specifications just yet. Given its closeness to the GV80, we expect to see Genesis’ turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder and an optional twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6.
