2018 BMW X3 Leaked

Although BMW plans to officially reveal the all-new 2018 X3 on Monday, it’s leaked out ahead of schedule. The company’s official website in Hong Kong leaked photos of the 2018 model early, and of course BMW Blog has taken note of the leak.

The official photos show a very much evolved design for the all-new X3 SUV. BMW has evolved the X3 design much like it has other recent models (such as the new 5 Series), by including a larger, 3D kidney-shaped grille. The iconic grille is flanked by LED headlights that are surprisingly not thinned down as much as other new BMW models. A new, more upright front fascia design rounds out the new look up front.

In back, new LED taillights feature a 3D type design as well, something also noted on more recent BMW designs. A more couple-like greenhouse traces the eye back to said rear design.

Inside, the new X3 is also fairly predictable using recent BMW’s as a barometer. The new dash design is highlighted by a floating LCD screen that is also found on the new 5 Series. The entire interior design appears to be driver-oriented, similar to other BMW models.

Expect additional details on the 2018 BMW X3 to appear on Monday, including all powertrain details. For now, we know that the top-level model will be the X3 M40i with a 360 horsepower version of BMW’s 3.0-liter flat-six.

I believe cars from the 1950s and 1960s changed more year to year than BMWs change generation to generation.

I don't think this one changed at all.

Maybe the front end a little bit. And from a distance, I can't really tell the difference between the X3 and X5.

I'm not saying BMW is a bad vehicle. They are great cars, but when it comes to styling of their established models, they don't really push the envelope very much.

Used to people saying V6.... But flat six is new! :p

But yeah, BMW needs someone like Bangle back desperately. It's not that it's bad looking, but they have gone back to the era that caused the Bangle era to happen.....

So we could have guessed this design several years ago. No surprise on the X7 though.
